GERALDINE. Geraldine is not just a pretty girl’s name; it’s a pretty amazing country village. Diverse in nature with virgin forest within the town boundary, river meandering through, tall trees, large open spaces all set below the Central South Island mountains. Geraldine has a high achieving secondary school with 600 students, 14 school buses, a cinema, four banks, three money machines, dozens of little well stocked little boutique shops selling chocolates, cheese, gifts, crafts, clothes and more with eight eating choices there’s no need to venture beyond the boundaries. Some come for a taste and live happily ever after. You can too!!

TWIZEL. Once a hydro town, Twizel is now a thriving holiday resort made popular by its unlimited recreational opportunities. Lake Ruataniwha attracts huge crowds during the rowing season and the rivers attract fly fisherman from all corners of the world. You don't have to be an expert fisherman to catch a 20lb Rainbow trout as many are caught near the salmon farms using basic gear.
With several lakes to choose from, boating and water skiing are very popular on Benmore, Ohau and Ruataniwha. The locals however have their own favourite spots for cooling off on a hot summer's day.

FAIRLIE. Fairlie is the “Gateway to the Mackenzie, a small rural community on the inland tourist route between Christchurch and Queenstown. It’s a busy little town with holidaymakers enjoying fishing and boating on Lake Opua in the summer and in the winter Mt Dobson ski field draws skiers from all over the world. There are numerous employment opportunities within the town and it is handy enough to Timaru and Tekapo to commute to. If you are looking for a quieter, rural pace and enjoy outdoor recreation you will find plenty to do in this area surrounded by mountains and fabulous scenery.

WAIMATE. This is a town that reflects the confidence the early settlers felt in the fertile lands and forestry which they began to develop in the 1850’s. Its wide spacious street, valued collection of Edwardian buildings, beautiful parks and gardens create a relaxed, friendly environment for both residents and visitors. The district provides a peaceful atmosphere for a holiday but it is also a convenient gateway to the Waitaki Lakes and the spectacular Mackenzie basin and provides one of the shortest routes to Wanaka and Queenstown. Friendly locals, a picturesque rural setting and world class recreational opportunities on the doorstep make the Waimate district an ideal place to experience quintessential New Zealand.

TEMUKA. A family town, a town where children can safely walk to school, play in the park and swim at the pool or river. You can buy a good family home on a 1012m2 site for around $200,000 or maybe a new executive home for around $400,000. Temuka has 3 excellent schools, an amazing array of social and service clubs as well as a superb 18 hole golf course, one of seven in the region. Temuka is a thriving service town for a booming farming community. The dairy giant Fonterra has created employment for 100’s of people many of whom have chosen to call Temuka home. Many locals also elect to travel 15kms a day to nearby Timaru for work, shopping or play. Let us share our town with you. Click Business Search for more detail.
