Welcome to Te Kiteroa Lodge
Wake up to enchanting bellbird song and a spectacular sunrise. Te Kiteroa, Maori for ‘the long view’, is a comfortable and affordable luxury lodge with guest dining room, TV lounge, and three double bedrooms with ensuite facilities. Each bedroom enjoys a ‘long view’ of hills and coastal scenes.
Te Kiteroa Lodge's unique setting is at the foot of the Hunters Hills, close to native bush with stunning panoramic coastal views, only two minutes from the centre of Waimate and a short distance off State Highway 1. The township of Waimate, half-way between Christchurch and Dunedin, is known as the Gateway to the Waitaki Valley and some of the South Island's most scenic lakes. Step off the highway and discover a piece of paradise.
The lodge produces local wine from its own vineyard and operates a cellar door. Unwind at the end of the day with a glass of local wine in hand and a soak in the outdoor hot tub.
Hosts Ann and Gary have spent many years overseas and enjoy hosting both local and international visitors. Guests are made to feel at home and are provided with an informative overview of the local history and rural lifestyle.
The early bushmen's sawmill town and Edwardian heritage is treasured by the community. Waimate is famous for its strawberries and raspberries, local honey, vegetables, free-range eggs and pork. Guests are treated to a taste of local fare at breakfast and can choose to pre-book an evening meal if required. Peace and tranquility are the hallmarks of the lodge setting and an unforgettable experience awaits the traveller stopping over.
Te Kiteroa Lodge offers wireless internet, Sky TV, hot tub, ensuite and breakfast available.
