2016 South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards

The BEA recognises and celebrates business excellence, playing an important role in promoting and strengthening economic development in the region.

Entering these prestigious awards provides you and your team with a rare opportunity to take a step back from day to day operations and review your business from a fresh perspective.

Past winners have found the entry process not only highly rewarding and motivating, but also of immense strategic value in positioning their business for long-term, sustainable growth.

Entrants benefit from significant local media coverage, with category and supreme winners able to leverage their success in on-going advertising and communications activity well past the immediate event period. In addition to the benefits for businesses, the awards play an important part in lifting the overall profile of South Canterbury, raising awareness of our business sectors for the economic benefit of all South Cantabrians.

Entry Process & Guidelines

Entering the awards is simple, download your entry pack and get started here. Come along to an entry workshop to get help with your entry.

  • Each section must be completed within the specified word limit, so plan your entry to gain maximum mileage out of the limited word count. The word count is however a maximum number and you may be able to complete some sections with less than this amount.
  • Please word process your answers. No handwritten entries will be accepted. The presentation of your entry is important.
  • Answer all questions clearly and concisely and avoid narrative as a substitute for hard facts. The use of bullet points may assist in summarising information.
  • Entering can be a real team effort so consider brainstorming the questions with your staff, business partners, advisors etc. You might be surprised at the level of involvement and interest shown.
  • Appendices are not allowed.
  • It is not compulsory to include financial indicators, however indicators such as gross profit percentage could enhance your entry.
  • For any enquiries contact the SC Chamber of Commerce office (03) 687 2733 or email awards@southcanterbury.org.nz
