|Ann and Peter Armstrong welcome your visit to our Bed and Breakfast, Angel’s Rest, located in a rural setting only five minutes drive from Geraldine historic township on the main inland tourist route between Christchurch, Aoraki/Mt Cook and Queenstown.
Having B&B'd overseas, we appreciate the hospitality that we received and conversation with local people. So in our B&B we are about extending that same hospitality with a warm, comfortable, and homely atmosphere for your stay.
Very affordable at only $110.00 per night for two people, including breakfast.
At Angel’s Rest you’ll stay in a large sunny modern room with king bed and sitting area, spacious ensuite bathroom, flat-screen TV, tea & coffee making facilities, and your own external access. Free Wifi is also available. Enjoy a cooked or continental breakfast from our menu, which includes fresh baked croissants and our own preserves.
On arrival, join us for afternoon tea and home baking, sit and watch the sunset with a drink, or simply kick back and relax. Meet Goldie our dog, and enjoy the birds that frequent our garden.
Two hours from Christchurch, set on the South Downs just outside Geraldine and 500 metres from State Highway 79, we are ideally situated for a quiet weekend away or an overnight stopover enroute to Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve, Aoraki/Mt Cook and the stunning scenery of the Southern Lakes.
Being so close to Geraldine village means easy access to everything that this lovely country town has to offer in cafes and shops. Whilst here, take the time to taste Barker's famous conserves and pickles, enjoy cheese tasting and locally produced chocolates, wander the river walk and rhododendron dell, or visit the Vintage Car & Machinery Museum and the local Farmer's Market. We are also within easy reach of several ski fields, trout fishing, and other attractions that the region has to offer.
With many day excursions available, such as Peel Forest, the Homestead and historic Church of the Holy Innocents, and Lord of the Rings country at the headwaters of the Rangitata River and Mesopotamia Station (ask Peter for his stories of 'the olden days'!). Geraldine is so much more than an overnight stay.
Come and join us in ‘Paradise’ – where a day can easily roll into many more! That’s what happened to us – we visited and loved it so much, we’re now happy residents of this beautiful area.
And the most important question – cost – very affordable at $110.00 per night for two people, including breakfast.
