The inaugural Moraine Lodge 2019 Charity Gala Ball will raise funds for the Malaghan Institute for Cancer Research.
Lodge owners, Kaye and Luke, invite you to join them for a spectacular evening at one of South Canterbury's most beautiful luxury venues. And all for a great cause.
Dress is formal black tie, and being in the heart of the Mackenzie Country, we encourage gentlemen to wear their kilt.
Your ticket includes a glass of NZ Sparkling Wine on arrival, canapes, light supper, live music and access to the Fundraising Auction.
Make sure you get in early as numbers are limited.
Early bird ticket sales close 31 May 2019.
Why have we chosen the Malaghan Institute for Cancer Research as the recipient of our fundraising?
Like us, you may have experienced the grief of losing family members and friends to cancer.
The Malaghan Institute believe that the key to treating and curing disease lies in harnessing the innate potential of our immune system. In 2019 they are planning clinical trials in the areas of cancer, allergic and infectious diseases. We will be undertaking New Zealand’s first CAR T-cell clinical trial. CAR T-cell therapy has the potential to fundamentally transform cancer treatment and has recently been licensed in Australia, the United States and Europe to treat patients with certain types of lymphoma and leukemia.
- Down with Cancer fundraising campaign for the Malaghan Institute's CAR T-cell cancer therapy programme. David Downs advocates for our CAR T-cell trials.
- RNZ Summer Times Series January 2019. Cell biology programme leader Professor Mike Berridge speak with Summer Times presenter Lynn Freeman about cancer research, immunotherapy and human disease, in the first of a week-long series on immunology research at the Malaghan Institute
